We are coming to you from our fantastic central Washington location, located right here in Cle Ellum, Washington. But we are going to talk to the good folks in California. That's right, California. It's shockingly you have another city kicking around a crazy gun law. What could that possibly be? Oh, that's right. It's the death star of craziness. That's right. Sacramento, California. That city is on the precipice of now becoming the second city to mandate mandatory insurance for every firearms owner, but it's a lot more nefarious than that, and actually it serves, again, coming from California as a model by which many other jurisdictions could in fact just disarm their citizens. Don't believe me. We'll explain how. So today, let's spend a few minutes and let's talk about one of the most evil ways they will disarm all of you.
Okay. Before we get going too far down the road, we're going down proud to announce that this video is being brought to you by Sonoran Desert Institute. That's right. You can reach 'em directly@sd.edu or call him directly at (480) 999-4767. The Sonoran Desert Institute, arming America with education. Okay, America and Sacramento. Here's what we're talking about. We're talking about the fact that yeah, Sacramento is on the precipice of now becoming the second city in California to mandate insurance for all firearm owners. Now, by the way, we are talking about California, and anytime we talk about California, we always got to give a shout out to our first ever California subscriber. Of course, that is Philip P right down there in the Golden State who's been preaching the Gospel of Washington gun law ever since I was rocking this dude. Now Sacramento, I want you to understand that this policy, if implemented by your city council, which appears to be a very good and high likelihood that that's going to occur, is actually in some ways a little bit more nefarious than San Jose's, but America, I want you to understand two things.
Number one, does this truly have an effect on you? And if so, what is the effect that it could have for many of you who are living in states right now where you think you're safe from this type of insanity? Okay, now, the devil is always in the details and the details here are in fact, ugly. This policy, if enacted into law, would require that every California firearms owner have a policy which would cover any death, injury or damage that results from the accidental discharge and must have a policy for each and every one of the firearms that they own and possess. In addition to that, a copy of the policy itself shall be stored with each and every one of those firearms. So this insurance legislation actually begins to mandate now storage provisions. But you see Sacramento, there's a couple things more because this provision would also ban the entrance into any FFL by anybody under the age of 18.
And then this and clearly will have some significant problems with federal supremacy law. But this ordinance would also then ban any home-based FFLs inside the city limits of Sacramento. So any current home-based FFLs in Sacramento would be theoretically put out of business. Now the problem is, is you have state law now all of a sudden superseding federal law because this person was granted a federal firearms license. But that's for another video. But you see it gets even worse than that because in addition to having to have these insurance policies, there would also be an annual city fee, an annual city fee of course, based on the number of firearms that you own. And that city fee would be used to gun violence prevention programs are what we like to translate on this channel as gun control measures. Now, of course, the big problem is, as I previously mentioned, the city of San Jose has already done this.
There's already been court challenges to it. There's already been constitutional challenges and what should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody, including those inside and outside of California, is that the California courts have found, Hey, there's just no problem with this law whatsoever. Okay? Now here's what I want you to understand. America, and you do need to contact your individual insurance representatives to insure this, but if you have a renter's policy or you have a homeowner's insurance policy, there is a high probability that if there were to be an accidental or negligent discharge inside your home, that your renters and or homeowner's insurance policy would cover that. Now, you need to absolutely, positively verify that with your insurance company. So in many ways, what Sacramento may be mandating here is something that many of you may actually already be in possession of, however, of course comes with that, the additional municipal fee, which then Sacramento gets to make on the exercise of your rights.
And then of course, they could use that money to actually try to strip you of those rights. But the most evil way that California or many of the other states that are hell bent on disarming, you can effectively start, in fact, disarming you, is through complicity with your insurance carriers because suddenly, if much more pressure is put on these insurance carriers, there will be much more questions about the storage of firearms and the homes. And these questions will be mandatory before you can qualify for policies, and there will be policy adjustments based upon the number of firearms that you're owning and the type of storage provisions that you are using and so forth. And ultimately, their goal is to price many Americans out of the exercise of their otherwise inalienable right of self-preservation. So for those of you who think, well, this is just what you get when you live in Sacramento and it's not going to ever affect me, I want you to understand you're in all likelihood wrong, because if these types of evils, if these types of nefarious legislation wrapped up in some kind of innocuous gun violence prevention program are allowed to continue to survive, it is just a matter of time before it ends up in your backyard.
