Speed vs Accuracy Which is more important? by Memphis BeechMore important in Speed and Accuracy

You suck at shooting and I suck at shooting too. And that's awesome. Which one is more important? Is it speed or is it accuracy? Five or six times in the last four months, someone has either asked me on Facebook or they posted something trying to, they already established that, hey, speed and accuracy are both important, but which one is more important? Is it speed or is it accuracy? Well, here's the answer. You suck at shooting and so do I. Okay. And so people that don't suck at shooting, they understand that speed and accuracy cannot be separated. They are two sides of the same coin. They are best friends forever. You cannot separate speed and accuracy. I need all the alphas all the time, and I need them as soon as I can get 'em. Slow hits are worthless and fast. Misses are reckless. I need all alphas all the time as soon as I can get 'em.

Defensive context

Well, how about in a defensive context?  I was talking about a defensive context. If someone's trying to rob you or kill you or your family, or if someone's trying to rob you in a Walmart parking lot, you need all the hits all the time, and you need them as soon as you can get 'em right now. And if you're miss, you're missing. Innocent people are getting hurt and then you die. If you're slow, you die. And then innocent people are getting hurt. It's the same thing, six in one hand, half a dozen in the other. You need all the hits all the time as soon as you can get 'em. I mean, what did you want me to say? You want me to say slow is smooth. Smooth is fast. Did you want me to say slow down and get your hits because you're a sniper? No, no, no.

People ask questions like that because they want them to tell them what they want 'em to hear. They're asking to serve their own ego and their own pride. It's okay, baby. It's all right to pat you on the head. You can be as slow as you want to, as long as you're getting your hits. That's not the answer. The answer is you suck at shooting and so do I. And once we admit that, once we leave our pride at the door, once we leave our ego behind, now we become open to ideas, we become open to new methodologies. We could start to evaluate our process and live in that process. We could start to improve. We could even watch ourselves improve even in real time and that's awesome. That whole process, that whole thing is so much fun, is so much fun.

Leave the ego

But we got to leave our ego at the door. Okay. We cannot ask questions out there like this, especially on social media, just so we can serve our own ego just so we can have people say, oh, well accuracy is really more important. I speed versus accuracy. The real answer is you suck at shooting and so do I. And that's awesome. We're going to have so much fun. Can you give me five minutes of dry fire tonight? Can you do that for me? Alright, let's go get it.
