LIVE FIRE OVERVIEW (FROM AN INSTRUCTOR) by MEDReady Co

We're going to be shooting at our target, brought to you by Chick-fil-A. Alright, so your first round, it's going to be at three yards. You're going to take one shot, cover your target, which means you're going to basically stand there and do nothing. You're going to scan with your finger off the trigger. You're going to go into low ready. Your gun angles down about 20 degrees or so, and you're looking over your optic. Your instructor will say the command, you will get on target. You got three seconds. 1, 2, 3, let off of your trigger. Keep covering. You do not need to reengage. Target finger off the trigger scan and then get into low ready. Now let's go back to five yards. Alright, so now at five yards, you've completed your three yard. You did that five times. Now we're at five. You're going to take two shots. You have five seconds. You're going to do one round of two, another round of two, and then you're going to do a round of one. Your slide is going to lock back because you're empty at that point, at which time you're going to drop your magazine, grab your other magazine

Restart the process

And then you're going to restart the process. Five seconds is a long time. Take your time shooter ready, engage 1, 2, 3. Do not need to reengage. I'm going to let my finger off in the trigger

Scanning. I'm going into a low ready, looking over the optic over the site so I can reengage quickly if necessary. Perfect.

Shooter ready. Engage up to the target one. Alright, throw that away. All right, real fast. Let's just see where our shots are. This is the old Chick-fil-A cup. Right now at seven yards, you're going to do the same thing as you did on the five yard. Two rounds. Cover scan, low. Ready two rounds, cover scan low ready, and then one round slide, lock back, reload. Then you'll go back to the 15. Engage. 1, 2, 3.

Cool.

Ready?

Single shot

Your last one will be one shot. It'll go to slide lock. When you have these one shots, you have three seconds. Still all the time in the world. Engage one, two slide lock back like that. You're going to drop your magazine out. Put your new one in. Wait instructions. Let's mark up our target real fast at the seven. All this, well, everything is right where it's supposed to be. Alright, so at 15 yards you're going to be taking a single shot. It's a lot like the three yard drill. You have six seconds and then you will cover scan, go back to low ready five times. At the end of any of these, your last drill ends by you coming back to a compressed position and then awaiting instructions. Let's go ahead and take this shot at 15.

You ready? Engage 1, 2, 3, 5, 6. Plenty of time covering finger off the trigger scanning.

Show your instructor

We're all clear. Lock it back. Show your instructor you know how to clear a firearm and go through all the bullshit that you got to go through to practice taking part in your second amendment rights while in Maryland. Let's go look at this target. Actually, that's not enough shooting. I got one more here. We're going to go ahead and burn it.

1, 2, 3, 4, 6.

Let's see where we land. Second shot. First shot. Exact same spot. Hell, I'll take it. We appreciate you here at med. Ready, spending some time with us, shooting it. A Chick-fil-A cup, and don't worry, you're not shooting it. Anything this small, you're shooting at a target that is about the size of me. Not that I'm larger than your average little person, but if you could hit a Toyota Corolla with that firearm that you plan to carry, you'll pass this course. No problem at all. Engage 1, 2, 3. Two, Three.
